I'll tell you about the old times...
I'll tell you about what's new...
This is the way the museology program, where theory meets practice and is tried by practice, where experience seeks to educate, where interdisciplinarity is practiced collectively, where secrets are unveiled, where, from one mountaintop conquered a new, higher one emerges...where museums find their people, the people who really know and really care.
Maria Triandafyllidou | Αρχιτέκτων-Μηχανικός, architect-museologist | Director of the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art

For me personally, carrying all the baggage that goes with architectural studies, the Museology Program acted as a kind of redemption, unveiling right before my eyes the Utopia I was longing for, a whole new world full of new possibities for the design of museums and exhibitions.Stergios Galikas | architect-museologist, Μουσειολόγος | PhD candidate, AUTH.

The postgraduate Program in Museology, despite the difficult times for cultural institutions, offers an integrated approach to the functions, structure and effects of museums, but also methodological tools that are essential to anyone who wants a job in the cultural sector.Christina Ploutoglou | historian-museologist | collaborator at the Science Center and Technology Museum, Noesis

Upon our graduation we find ourselves endowed with a strong and carefully woven fabric of knowledge and experience from the Program's broadloom. Many of us try the endurance of this dowry cloth in our everyday work at the museum, faced with everchanging challenges and facts. And at some moments we also enjoy playing with the threads of this cloth, which in turn reweave this reality anew...Christina Mavini | archeologist-museologist | curator (Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art) | PhD candidate, AUTH.

There is this object standing before us, silent, excluded, dead. It could be a painting, a piece of cloth, a submarine...and suddenly it has a voice, it tells stories, it talks to us and we talk back. How this dialogue is created and communicated, how we can keep it alive, this is the most precious lesson we learn at the museology program - in other words, it provides us with the tools we need in order to produce culture.Miguel Fernandez Belmonte | art historian, museologist | PhD candidate, AUTH

Now that, as a freelancer, I am directy experiencing the working conditions and needs at museum institutions, I can appreciate even better the high level of education i received at the museology program, the broadness of the concept of the museum it taught us to always keep in mind, and the great necessity of the program's transdisciplinary thinking for the real world.Thomas Tsoukalas | architect-museologist | freelance museum services
