Thesis title: The typology of Museum Educational Evaluation in the educational activities of Greek Museums

The main focus of our research was to study the procedures for assessing training activities in domestic museums. In particular, the purpose of the study was to investigate to what extent the evaluation methods designed for the educational activities of Greek museums are compatible with the latest theories about the educational dimension of the museum and whether the instructive anachronisms of formal education “invade” in museum education on the basis of the special relationship that has developed between the school and the museum in recent years. After comprehending the international literature on the evolution of learning in the museum, a quantitative survey was conducted in 52 local museums in order to determine whether the assessment plays a pivotal or ancillary role in the implementation of educational programs, what is assessed, what methods are utilized and what factors hinder or even suspend assessment interventions.
