Patroklos Georgiadis

Professor Patroklos Georgiadis is a faculty member of the Laboratory of Business Administration at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.), Greece. He obtained a Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from A.U.Th (1977) and a Ph.D. in System Dynamics (SD) from the Department of Mechanical Engineering A.U.Th. (1989).

He teaches Production and Operations Management, Production Planning and Control and System Dynamics. His main research interests fall in the area of Production and Operations Management using SD techniques. He is the leader of the System Dynamics Research Group focusing on the systems thinking and modelling for the sustainability of production systems/closed-loop supply chains (CLSCs), strategic decision making in CLSCs with recycling and remanufacturing activities, product life-cycle management, long-term capacity planning and production planning and control. He has published research articles in a variety of academic journals, conference proceedings, book chapters and has authored a book on System Dynamics with Applications in Production Management in Greek (2006).

Professor Georgiadis has served as referee for a variety of international journals, including Production Operations Management, Omega The International Journal of Management Science, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Journal of Environmental Management and others. He has participated in EU projects and also in a large number of funded research projects for the Greek industry, the Hellenic General Secretariat of Research and Technology and Greek public organizations and municipalities.

Professor Georgiadis has been invited as keynote speaker in international symposiums (Germany, Greece) and also as an expert by the European Commission to join the technical working group on environmental management practice in the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Manufacturing sector.
