The aim of this program is to offer a wealth of educational tools to teachers and graduates of humanities and social sciences departments, as well as to Fine Arts graduates. This will enable them to connect teaching in secondary State education with activities that wil famiiarize young students with cultural heritage, museums and the natural environment, and to help the students develop their cognitive skills, as well as their emotional and aesthetic intelligence.

Our country is rich in museums and monuments. It is therefore essential that mandatory education integrates within its formal curriculum courses that will broaden the students’ knowledge, experienc and skills concering the cultural landscape surrounding them. This program not only encourages teachers to enhance their syllabus, but also gives graduates the opportunity to redefine their professional interests.

The program offers 30 hours of seminars on the following subjects:

  • History of museums in Greece and Europe.
  • The institution of the museum today from an educational, social and communicative point of view.
  • The museum as/in education.
  • Museum education: Theory, methods, techniques of tourguiding for school visits.
  • Conceiving of, designing and realizing educational programs.
  • Uses of multimedia technologies.
  • Assessment and critical participation in cultural activities and guided tours.
