Thessis: 2010, Ecomuseum Vafe, a religous and folkloric route
This thesis regards the planning and the design execution of an ecomuseum, that will include a route, exterior and interior exhibition spaces. The place of study is the preserved settlement Vafes in Chania, where we trace numerous ecclesiastical and folklore testimonies and objects- buildings. The study aims at the formation of an explicit museological proposal for a main and a secondary itinerary and at a complete museological and architectural study on a permanent exhibition hosted in two of the buildings of the existing fabric (old Turkish warehouses). The main architectural idea is alined with a mentality of integration between secular- folklore elements and religious, in a dynamic totality, whereas the final study includes a full range of master plans, three dimensional representations, and details for the major parts of the intervention.
